I just posted what might be the final episode of Outcasts & Rebels. But that doesn't mean it's over!
The truth is, I've been getting a bit burned out by it. I mean, I've been working on this thing regularly for over a year now. There's other WIPs I want to get back to, and new ones I want to start. And this is a good enough stopping point. Most storylines are resolved enough, with next to no cliffhangers. There's enough open ends to continue, but it's impossible to end those without opening new storylines, so this is the best I can end it without going crazy. But I still have storylines I want to write, so I definitely plan on returning to the world and characters in the future. I just don't know when. Or how!
This started off as more of a learning experience to try my hand at an actual web serial format instead of a regular novel. As much fun as it was, it turns out that I far prefer writing traditional novels. Not only that, but the more I work on this, the more I wish I made it a traditional novel instead. So, there's a decent chance I'm gonna ignore the web serial version altogether and turn it into a couple of different novels instead. (One focusing on the young adults, the other on the adults. Or something. Idk.) Or I might simply jump back into it the way it is now. I don't know what's best, so I'm taking this well-deserved break away from it. I'll make an official decision when I get back into writing it. I just don't know when that will be.
But I'm not disappearing altogether! I recently finished the first draft of a new adult romance. I haven't gotten around to editing it quite yet, due to a new idea I've been working on. But I hope to have that ready for posting by the end of next year. I also have another WIP from 2021 that's about halfway done (but hasn't been worked on since 2022...) I have no idea when that'll be finished, but probably not anytime soon thanks to two new ideas I want to write- one of which I started writing a couple weeks ago. So, I've got enough things to write to keep me occupied.
Anyways, I hope anyone out there who decides to read Outcasts and Rebels, enjoys it! I might be sick of it now, but I loved writing it!
